Zen Lemonade is a Psychedelic Trance unit by Australian producer Gus Till and Supercozi. They also produced more than 80 Ambient / Chillout / Downtempo songs ( Including Bespoke Releases ) together under the various name : Zen Lemonade, Paam9, Jazz Nomad Orchestra, Gus and Cozi , etc during 17 years as a married couple.

Supercozi met Till while DJ touring Australia in December 1999 with DJ friends Tsuyoshi Suzuki and Nick Taylor ( Both member of Prana ) and DJ Jet More. They introduced her to Till on the Christmas eve at the house garden party of Andrew Till, a well respected directer / DJ of Australia’s first Psy-Trance label Psy-Harmonics in Melbourne. Gus Till a.k.a Slinky Wizard – older brother of Andrew Till – is a well known Electronic music pioneer in Australia whom used to be a band member of Third Eye ( with Ollie Olsen ), Max Q ( with Michael Hutchence ). Till was also a rising Psy-trance producer with strings of high quality powerful releases from leading UK Psy-Trance labels such as Flying Rhino Records, Tip, Dragonfly Records, Twisted Records, etc.
Since they had a similar musical back ground as a punk / new wave rock musician-turned into a Psychedelic Electronic music producer, It didn’t take long for them to bond. After they spend time together in Byron Bay where Cozi played a Techno DJ set at the Milleniyum Festival 2000 ( New Year Countdown Festival that organized by Nick Taylor of Prana and his crew ), they decided to perform together as a band at Earthcore festival in Melbourne, where Cozi was already booked as a part of ‘ Equinox Tokyo Tekno tribe ‘ stage. On Feb 6th 2000, They improvised 45 minutes live set that based on Supercozi’s original tracks on DAT tape, topped up with Gus on Synth and Cozi on Zoi-san mini guitar and samples & synth, and her poetry reading like singing. Their first gig was received well by packed audience and local promoters. This positive feedback encouraged them to continue the musical experimentation together.
Supercozi moved to UK in 2000 March to start a new chapter with Till. They spent first few weeks in London, then settled down in Devon, 4 hours train journey from London. They had set up a studio quickly, and Till taught her how to use Logic software which she was switching from Vision software that she had been using for music production for 7 years before she met Till .
They quickly developed alchemistic combination in the studio and their own style together, and finished few demo tracks in a month. Immediately after Till sent demos to the few labels, they were approached by Darren Stubbs, Label directer of UK Psy-Trance pioneer label Dragonfly Records that founded by Youth ( a.k.a Martin Glover, a founder member and bassist of Killing Joke ). After they signed album contract with the label, the first chillout track ‘ Die Ashanti ( Mean ‘ The Ashanti ‘ in German, taken from their favorite poem ‘ Die Ashanti ‘ by an Austrian poet Rainer Maria Rilke ) was released by Dragonfly’s chillout sub-label Liquid Sound Design ( L.S.D ). And then followed by few Psy-Trance tracks featured in few compilations.
After one and half year of focused studio work in Devon, Their first Psy-Trance album ‘ Lemon Soul‘ was released in 2002 spring from Youth’s Dragon Fly Records ( UK ) . Album contain 6 Psychedelic & Goa Trance tracks, and 4 down tempo tracks including opening theme ‘ Super Panam Calling ‘ that featured stewardesses like announcement by Michele Adamson ( Vocalist of Shpongle ) whom was a university student at the time, and a frequent house guest of the artists house they lived in North Tawton, Devon ( UK ).
1年半に及ぶデヴォンでのスタジオ・ワークを経て、2002年春、初のサイ・トランス・アルバム「Lemon Soul」をYouth’s Dragon Fly Records ( UK ) よりリリース。アルバムには6曲のサイケデリック＆ゴア・トランスと、4曲のダウン・テンポの曲が収録されており、オープニング・テーマの ‘ Super Panam Calling ‘ は、当時大学生でのちにラジャ・ラムとサイモン・ポスフォードが結成したバンド、シュポングルのヴォーカリストとして世界的に有名なシンガーになるミシェル・アダムソン（彼女は当時、二人が住んでいたデヴォン州ノース・タウトンのアーティスト・ハウスによく出入りしていた。）によるスチュワーデスのようなアナウンスがフィーチャーされていた。
Album instantly gained critical acclaim as a timeless Goa Trance classic album for their unique style which powerful mix of old school Psy-Trance grooves, Cross genre ideas and Acid Techno hints.
On 6th September 2002, Zen Lemonade played debut live set for a packed crowd in London album launch party that organized by UK based promoter Kundalini. Since then, they had been playing many live sets / DJ gigs at festivals and parties from Moscow to Mexico including Samothraki Dance Festival ( Greece ), Summer Dreaming ( Australia ), Australian Eclipse ( Australia ), Fusion ( U.S.A ), Yaga Gathering ( Lithuania ), Space Mandala Festival ( Japan ), just name of few.

In 2002 September, Cozi and Till moved to Bali / Indonesia with their 1 year old son Ashanti. They spent 9 month in a villa with rice field & jungle view in Ubud where the traditional Balinese hindu culture still strongly remaining, and finished few tracks including ‘ Lotus Eater ‘ – Asian flavored Psy-chill tune for a compilation from Athen based label Electronic Soundscapes that founded by Arash Atman- Music directer of Samothraki Music Festival ( 2000-2003 / Greece ) ‘s chill out stage.
By the mid 2003, they moved to Seminyak – A small up-lifting town in the south Bali and settled down in an aged wooden villa with a jungle like garden and an open-air- tropical style living room that has no window or wall. Everyday life in Bali were filled with the sound of nature – Swaying palm trees, orchestra of frogs and insects including cicadas and cricket, water drips in pond, squall and thunder. On the full moon night, Manku ( High priest ) and temple singer are chanting and singing in Sanskrit ( Language from ancient India ) in the temples that scattered all across Bali. Few nights a week, they can hear the Gamelan music from nearby Banjar ( Town community house for Balinese ) that local Balinese in all ages, from children to elderly, are practicing.

~ Second album ‘ Babylondon’ / 2009 ~
Zen Lemonade released second full album ‘ Babylondon ‘ in May 2009 from Athens ( Greece ) based independent chillout label Electronic Soundscapes. Since the label was focusing on the Psy-chill and down tempo, label owner Arash Atman requested them to create a downtempo album but something deeply psychedelic with Asian, Balinese influence. Duo worked on the album for nearly 2 and a half years between busy schedule for many other projects, keep recording real instruments part of local & expats musicians, also featuring field recording of local Gamelan orchestra.
13 month before the release, Atman arranged a live concert in Athens as a warming up act for the world renown band Juno Reactor‘s world tour. Zen Lemonade invited Tim Valkenburg whom played a guitar in album, and their 60 minutes show – with mainly new down tempo tracks from album – was well received by sold-out crowds
~ 3 EPs with Psy-Trance / Psy-Tech releases 2013-2015 ~
Zen Lemonade duo had been working on a long awaited second full dance album occasionally through the 15 years in Bali, searching new sound of their own which a fusion of Psychedelic & Goa Trance, and Psy-Tech. They produced more than 2 dozen tracks by the end of 2015, but unfortunately album never came out despite the anticipation by fans around the world. However, 3 EPs – ‘ Morphing Jack ‘, ‘ Addiction ‘, ‘ Addiction Remixes ‘ – were released between 2013-2015, featuring Remixes by BUS, Manmademan, James Monro, Andrea Bertolini, Manu Ferrantini.
Through the years they had been together, Till was a teacher & a mentor for Cozi on the music production in the studio, and a big influencer to taught her the diverse musical history ranged from classical music to latin jazz fusion from 60’s or experimental Electronica. Till was also a devoted supporter for her label Hypo Espresso Records, and a core driven force of Taiga Sound – Their Bespoke music production company. Cozi always admit that without Till’s passionate teaching and Technical support, her music production level and discography never reached to the point where it is now.

スーパーコージがティルと出会ったのは、1999年12月、DJ仲間の鈴木剛、ニック・テイラー（共にプラーナのメンバー）、DJジェット・モアと共にオーストラリアをDJツアーしていた時だった。
クリスマス・イブの夜、メルボルンにあるオーストラリア初のサイ・トランス・レーベルPsy-Harmonicsのディレクター／DJとして有名なアンドリュー・ティルのハウス・ガーデン・パーティーで、彼らは彼女にティルを紹介した。アンドリュー・ティルの兄であるスリンキー・ウィザードことガス・ティルは、サード・アイ（オリー・オルセンとのバンド）やマックスQ（マイケル・ハッチェンスとのバンド）のバンド・メンバーとして活躍していたオーストラリアでは有名なエレクトロニック・ミュージックのパイオニアだった。
ティルはまた当時、フライング・ライノ・レコード、ティップ、ドラゴンフライ・レコード、ツイステッド・レコードなど、UKを代表するサイトランス・レーベルから高品質でパワフルな作品をリリースしている、新進気鋭のサイトランス・プロデューサーでもあった。

パンク／ニューウェーブ・ロック・ミュージシャンからサイケデリック・エレクトロニック・ミュージック・プロデューサーに転身したという音楽的背景が似ていたこともあり、2人の絆が深まるのに時間はかからなかった。バイロンベイでプラーナのニック・テイラーと彼のクルーがオーガナイズしたミレニユム・フェスティバル2000（新年のカウントダウン・フェスティバル）で、コージがテクノのDJセットをプレイしたあと、彼らは共に時間を過ごした。そしてコージーが既にソロアクトとしてブッキングされたメルボルンでのアースコア・フェスティバルで、即席のバンドとして初めて共演することになった。
2000年2月6日、二人はDATテープに録音されたSupercoziのオリジナル・トラックをベースに、Gusのシンセ、CoziのZoi-sanミニ・ギターとサンプル＆シンセ、そして彼女のポエトリー・リーディングを加えた45分のライブ・セットを即興で演奏した。

2003年半ばには、バリ島南部の小さな新興都市エリア、スミニャックに移り住み、ジャングルのような庭と、窓も壁もないオープンエアーのトロピカルスタイルのリビングルームのある、年季の入った木造のヴィラに落ち着いた。
揺れるヤシの木、カエルやセミやコオロギなどの昆虫のオーケストラ、池の水滴、スコールや雷など、バリの日常は自然の音で満たされていた。満月の夜には、バリのあちこちに点在する寺院で、マンクー（大僧正）や寺院の歌い手たちがサンスクリット語（古代インドの言語）でお経を唱え、歌う。週に何度か、近くのバンジャール（バリ人のコミュニティハウス）から、子供からお年寄りまで幅広い年齢層の地元バリ人が練習しているガムラン音楽が聞こえていた。

2人が一緒にいる間、ティルはコージにとってスタジオでの音楽制作の先生であり、メンターであり、クラシック音楽から60年代のラテン・ジャズ・フュージョン、実験的なエレクトロニカまで、様々な音楽の歴史を教えてくれた。ティルはまた、彼女のレーベルであるハイポ・エスプレッソ・レコードの熱心なサポーターであり、タイガ・サウンド（オーダーメイドの音楽制作会社）の中心的な原動力でもあった。ティルの情熱的な指導と技術的なサポートがなければ、彼女の音楽制作のレベルとディスコグラフィーは現在のようなレベルに達することはなかったと、コージは常に認めている。
